Why does PM Modi need to visit to Gujarat so often? Controversy statment by  Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan

Gujarat Elections: Voting in the state is scheduled to take place on December 1 and December 5, with the results being tallied on December 8.

The Congress continues its campaign in Gujarat, which is getting ready to vote in a few days, despite a new issue surrounding Ashok Gehlot’s “gaddar (traitor)” comment against Sachin Pilot. The chief minister of Rajasthan took aim at the prime minister on Saturday, despite efforts by his party to resolve internal disputes in one of the few remaining states it still controls.

“Why does PM Modi need to make so many trips to Gujarat when his name is already well-known? It’s because the BJP is suddenly terrified, Gehlot said, High unemployment and inflation will be the causes of the BJP’s defeat in Gujarat, he continued.

A day before the Prime Minister was scheduled to speak at three consecutive election rallies in the  state, he made his remarks. Since last week, PM Modi has spoken at numerous election rallies in his native state, where the BJP has been in power for 27 years. The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party present themselves as the main rivals.

But the grand old party’s recent difficulties have diverted attention from its election promises and preparations in Delhi, where city elections will be held on December 4, as well as in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi is leading the party’s Kanyakumari to Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra, which aims to help revive the electoral base.

This week’s controversy began when Gehlot referred to Sachin Pilot, his former deputy, as a “gaddar” in an interview . “The rebellion against Pilot would not have occurred if he had expressed regret. The 90 MLAs revolted in opposition to Pilot. And after many of our ministers expressed their inability to support Pilot if he was chosen as the Congress leader, Gehlot said, “And after many of our ministers had said also that cannot accept gaddar, traitor…,” referring to the September crisis the party experienced. At the time, many of Gehlot’s supporters had threatened to leave the party.

Pilot and other party members had both responded angrily to the remark.

Gujarat is scheduled to hold two rounds of voting for its legislative elections on December 1 and December 5, with results being announced on December 8.
