The South Korean Embassy in India recently staged a special ‘puja’ ceremony to welcome the arrival of a new vehicle, which happened to be a Hyundai car from South Korea’s automaker.
The Korean Embassy in India posted a video of the ceremony on the microblogging platform X, formerly Twitter.
The embassy tweeted, “We are delighted to have a new Hyundai Genesis GV80 as the Ambassador’s official vehicle and held a Pooja ceremony wishing for good luck! Join our embassy’s new journey!”
The video showed a priest performing the puja and wrapping a sacred thread around the ambassador’s wrist.
The post drew a lot of attention on social media, with many people praising and applauding the fusion of Korean and Indian cultures.
“Our culture is Our Pride”, said one user, Alok Ranjan Singh.
Another user commented, “It’s truly commendable. The ambassador will be using a vehicle from his own country, which sends a positive message!”
The third user commented, “This is how you show respect for someone else’s culture. Best of luck!”
And, the fourth user commented, “We only have one heart, how many more do you need to win..!!”
A video of Chang Jae-bok dancing to the RRR movie’s ‘Natu Natu’ song was recently uploaded on the official ‘X’ handle and Instagram account of the Korean Embassy in India.
