Physical stores find themselves falling behind in the age of online food ordering and delivery services like Swiggy and Zomato. One could get the exact same food item for half the price with some smart maneuvering, and in some situations, the delivery staff could even bring the food directly from the store to your table. Recently, a Twitter user became popular after getting a Starbucks drink for less than half the price.
Sandeep Mall, a fitness coach, and businessman discovered the perfect hack to cover the very expensive Starbucks coffee expense. He explained how he used his ‘jugaadu’ brain to get himself a Rs 400 cup of coffee that was being offered at the store for just Rs 190.
He used a clever yet straightforward hack to get the best possible offer. While seated in a Starbucks, Mall used the food delivery app Zomato to purchase the drink he wanted and secured a discount that brought the price of his first order down by hundred rupees.
His tweet: “Sitting at Starbucks – coffee for 400. Zomato deal for same coffee 190. Ordered Zomato with the address of Starbucks. The Zomato guy picks me up and gives me to my table at Starbucks. ये वाला business अपनी अक्ल से completely
To prove it to the Twitter audience that he was telling the truth and not just bluffing, Mall even uploaded a screenshot of his order.
Internet users gets crazy
Sandeep Mall’s small tweet got over a million views as people gathered to weigh in on the man’s genius. One user asked him, “Man gets Rs 400 Starbucks coffee for Rs 190.” To which Mall replied, “He knew people were doing this.”
Since the Sandeep Mall hack, other related stories have surfaced.
“Used to carry out the same for a few Mumbai restaurants. Another user chuckled, “He used to tell us…sir Swiggy ya Zomato see order karo, acchi bargain milegi.
Another cheered, “This is Jugaad in the true sense!”
Others questioned the responses of the employees and the delivery workers. Mall added, “He was aware that others were doing this. However, we’re not sure how the Starbucks employees will react to this breach; in some locations, you might even be asked to leave with your freshly delivered beverage.”
