Himachal Pradesh Named Among World’s Most Welcoming Regions By Booking.com

When travellers plan their next trip, they often focus on landmarks, food, activities, and experiences. Hospitality and the warmth of local people play an equally important role in shaping a memorable journey.

Recognising this, Booking.com has highlighted destinations that excel in making visitors feel genuinely welcome.

According to Booking.com’s Traveller Review Awards 2026, Himachal Pradesh has been ranked among the world’s most welcoming regions.

The ranking was based on an analysis of over 370 million verified traveller reviews from across the globe, assessing destinations that consistently delivered outstanding hospitality and service.

Booking.com released two separate lists as part of the awards. The first identified the Most Welcoming Cities on Earth, while the second focused on the Most Welcoming Regions worldwide.

On the regional list, Himachal Pradesh secured the fifth position, making it the only Indian destination to feature in the global top 10. Hidalgo in Mexico topped the list.

Himachal Pradesh’s appeal lies in its remarkable diversity. From the lively Mall Road in Shimla to adventure hotspots such as Solang Valley near Manali, the state offers experiences suited to all kinds of travellers.

Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy activities like paragliding, while those seeking tranquillity can visit spiritual centres such as Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj.

For travellers drawn to remote and rugged landscapes, regions like Lahaul and Spiti provide high-altitude terrain and offbeat experiences.

Whether visitors seek adventure, spirituality, or relaxation, Himachal Pradesh’s welcoming locals and hosts enhance the experience.

With its blend of natural beauty, varied experiences, and heartfelt hospitality, Himachal Pradesh continues to leave a lasting impression on travellers from around the world.
