Patiala House Court Extends Police Custody Of Two ISIS-Linked Suspects Till October 30

The Patiala House Court on Monday extended the police custody of two ISIS-linked suspects, Adnan Khan and Mohammad Adnan, till October 30.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shreya Agarwal approved the Delhi Police’s request to continue the probe. The court will hear Adnan Khan’s bail plea on 31 October.

During the hearing, the Delhi Police Special Cell said the interrogation revealed new leads, pushing investigators to analyse data from the suspects’ phones and other devices.

Investigators said the two men were preparing for an IED blast in Delhi during Diwali. They had reportedly completed suicide bombing training and were planning to strike in the capital.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the Special Cell arrested Adnan Khan from Sadiq Nagar and Mohammad Adnan from Bhopal.

Police recovered a watch meant to be used as a timer, along with laptops, phones, and pen drives containing evidence.

Early findings show that the men planned attacks on a South Delhi mall and a public park. The suspects used a private chat group to coordinate their plans and share information.

Investigators also found that the accused communicated with a Syrian handler based along the Syria–Turkey border, whom they called their ‘Ameer’.

Authorities recovered chats, images, and documents proving that both men were influenced by ISIS ideology and actively planning terror activities.

Adnan Khan, 20, also known as Abu Muharib, is from Delhi, while 21-year-old Mohammad Adnan from Bhopal is a chartered accountancy student. Both suspects were developing local connections and testing explosive materials, police sources said.

The Delhi Police Special Cell, National Investigation Agency (NIA), and intelligence agencies are jointly investigating the case. They continue to analyse digital evidence to trace the network and prevent further threats.
