Delhi High Court went into chaos on Friday after receiving a threatening e-mail claiming that explosives had been planted within the complex.
In response, Delhi Police initiated precautionary measures, evacuating the premises.
Lawyers and court staff left the building as security personnel secured the area.
Television channels reported that the e-mail alleged the presence of three bombs inside the court, including one in a judge’s chamber.
Security agencies, including bomb disposal squads, immediately mobilised, while the Delhi Police cyber cell began investigating the origin and sender of the e-mail.
The letter threatened a bomb detonation later in the afternoon, specifically inside the High Court building.
It also referenced alleged links with Pakistani ISI cells, warning that the judge’s chamber would explode shortly after midday Islamic prayers.
Additionally, the email issued a warning of an acid attack on Udaynidhi Stalin and demanded that Ezhilan Naganathan take control of the DMK.
“Today’s blast in Delhi High Court will clear the doubt of previous bluffs,” the message stated, appearing to taunt the Delhi Police.
This comes during a spate of similar threats in recent weeks, including bomb scares at educational institutions such as Maulana Azad Medical College and the Delhi Secretariat.
Previous warnings specified detonation times at 2:45 PM for MAMC and 3:30 PM for the CM Secretariat.
Following the alert, security agencies deployed standard response protocols, with bomb disposal units conducting thorough searches and scans at both locations.
Ultimately, the threat at the Delhi High Court, confirmed to be a hoax.
