Match preview: MI vs. GT- In the 57th match of the ongoing IPL 2023, which takes place on Friday, May 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the in-form Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the leaders of the league, the Gujarat Titans (GT). After a whirlwind victory over rival Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous outing, Rohit Sharma’s team will take on the defending champions.
Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat-based Mumbai have set the pace in the 16th edition of the tournament, despite the league’s attention being drawn to Mumbai’s recent form. After winning their first title last year, they are living up to the hype this time around, winning eight of their last 11 games.
The shorter dimensions of the ground also help the batters, as the surface in Mumbai is an absolute nightmare for bowlers. The chasing team reached a target of over 200 runs in the previous match at this venue with more than three overs remaining.
