Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed strict action against investigating officers who fail to clearly state findings in corruption cases. The Yogi government, following a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption, instructed officers in the Irrigation and Water Resources Department to avoid vague terms like “partially certified” in reports. Instead, officials must label allegations as either “true” or “found baseless” for precise accountability.
The Chief Minister emphasized that ambiguous language in reports hinders action against negligent officers and employees. He warned that any investigating officer found trying to obscure findings by using unclear terms will face serious consequences.
During a review of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Chief Minister Yogi expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of clarity in certain investigation reports. The department’s officers reported that unclear terms like “partially certified” often make disciplinary action challenging. The Chief Minister responded firmly, instructing that such language be avoided and that officials explicitly confirm allegations as proven or baseless.
Following these directives, the government issued an order mandating strict adherence to these guidelines across the department.
CM Yogi’s instructions aim to expedite pending actions against officers and employees by eliminating technical delays. The government’s urgent guidelines have already created a stir within the department, pushing for immediate compliance. By ensuring reports use clear terms, the government expects a swift response against those found guilty of misconduct.
