World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations Organized Under The Aegis Of Adani Foundation

World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations: Since 2018, through the Fortune Suposhan Project, run by Adani Wilmar, a public awareness program for better health in urban slums has been taking place.

Under this, like every year, this year also World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated from 1st August to 7th August, in which awareness program was done for breastfeeding women of the community through various programs. People were made aware through rally, group meeting, breastfeeding quiz competition, counseling etc. On the occasion of conclusion of World Breastfeeding Week today, on 8th August, pregnant and lactating women in the slums of Badi Gaibi, Lallapura, Bazardiha, Rajghat etc. were shown how to use coarse grains by exhibiting different types of health-enhancing dishes made from coarse grains. Along with this, other members of the house  like the child’s father and grandfather, grandmother were also sworn in to enable breastfeeding, along with women. Along with this, women were also rewarded through community rally and breastfeeding quiz competition. World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated with full enthusiasm in around 82 slums of the city.

On the occasion of this program, members Mr. Shyam Ashray Maurya and Mr. Sharad Pandey also shared the importance of breastfeeding to the community

Women and Child Development Project Supervisor Punita Rai as well as Anganwadi workers Vimla Bharti, Sushma, Maya Devi, Shabnam Bano, Rita etc. The health department workers, Ainam and Asha also participated during the week-long programme.

On behalf of Adani Foundation, Nutrition Officer Mamta Yadav, Assistant Nutrition Officer Jugal Keshari and Sujata Yadav along with Nutrition Companion Preeti Maurya, Soni Maurya, Rita Verma, Bindu Patel, Reshma, Jyoti, Abida, Mamta, Anjum etc were present.
