When Will The New Session Of IOC Be Held In India? Know Everything About It

The IOC session is going to be held soon. About the IOC, let us tell you that there is a meeting of all the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board, and some selected members from among the IOC members also participate in it. The upcoming session will be the 141st IOC session. Typically, important decisions regarding the inclusion or exclusion of host cities, sports, and federations for upcoming events and changes to the Olympic Charter are made at the IOC session.

Let us tell you that the 141st session of the IOC will be held in Mumbai, India, on October 15, 16, and 17 of this year. Before the session, the IOC Executive Board will meet on 12 and 13 October. The opening ceremony of the IOC session will be held on October 14. The decision to hold the 141st IOC session in India was taken by IOC members during the 139th IOC session held in Beijing in February 2022.

In this matter, Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, IOC member Nita Ambani, IOA President Narinder Batra, and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had put forward India’s side in the hosting proposal. 75 members voted in favor of Mumbai, while only one opposed it. The result is that the IOC session will be organized in India.

This session is likely to announce the final sports program for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Let us tell you that there are controversies over many sports, which include sports like cricket, dance, baseball, flag football, lacrosse, karate kickboxing, and squash, along with motorsports. Let us tell you that this will be an opportunity for India to showcase its hosting capacity by hosting this event.
