Voting time increased in Rajasthan

The Election Commission (EC) has increased the voting time in poll bound Rajasthan. The voting time has been fixed from 7 AM to 6 PM. So far the voting used to take place from 8 AM to 5 PM. This will be the longest voting hours the state is going to witness. This has been done to felicitate the number of voters as much as possible to cast their votes.

Total  51, 756 polling booths have been installed for elections to be held for  200 assembly seats in Rajasthan. There is a maximum of 1,450 voters enlisted in the voters list at each booth. Not only Rajasthan but the poll time have been increased in Madhya Pradesh as well.

The elections for Rajasthan are due to take place on November 25, Madhya Pradesh will be going to polls on November 17, Chhattisgarh’s poll days are November 7 and 17, Mizoram and Telangana are due for polls on November 7 and 30 respectively. Counting for all the five states are to take place on Sunday December 3

It is to be noted that poll percentage in Rajasthan are generally ranges between 65 – 70 percent every time  and the election commission is attempting to make the poll percentage  at 80 -85 percent this time.
