Vice-President Radhakrishnan Hosts Prime Minister Modi For Diwali Greetings In New Delhi

On the festive occasion of Diwali, Vice-President of India CP Radhakrishnan extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in the capital, symbolising a moment of goodwill and institutional harmony.

The meeting took place at the Vice-President’s enclave, where both leaders exchanged Deepawali greetings, reflecting the spirit of unity and tradition central to India’s democratic framework.

Vice-President Radhakrishnan shared the moment on his social media platform.

Taking to X, the Vice-President of India posted, “Hon’ble Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan warmly received Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the Vice-President’s Enclave today and exchanged Deepawali greetings.”

The post included a photograph capturing the two leaders engaged in a warm conversation, highlighting mutual respect and festive camaraderie.

Known for his emphasis on inclusivity, Dharma, and national development, the Vice-President also extended Diwali wishes to people in India and across the world.

In a separate message, he spoke about the festival’s deeper meaning, describing it as a reminder of ‘the triumph of goodness over evil and knowledge over ignorance’.

He further urged citizens to embrace positivity and uphold values of generosity and compassion.

Prime Minister’s Diwali Engagements

Prime Minister Modi, who spent the day participating in several Diwali engagements, including a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan to greet President Droupadi Murmu, emphasised the importance of cultural heritage and national unity during the celebrations.

His visit to the Vice-President’s residence added a ceremonial touch to the day’s events, reaffirming the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative branches of government.

The exchange of greetings between the two leaders, however, drew widespread appreciation on social media, where users praised the gesture as a reflection of simplicity and shared tradition.
