Vice President CP Radhakrishnan To Launch Justice Gavai’s Book The Voice Of Justice

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will launch The Voice of Justice: Justice Gavai Speaks on July 14.

Former Chief Justice of India, Justice BR Gavai, authored the book under the initiative of the Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA). Prof (Dr) S Shivakumar edited the volume.

Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant will preside over the launch ceremony.

Supreme Court judge and NALSA Executive Chairman Justice Vikram Nath will attend as the Chief Guest.

Former CJI Justice BR Gavai will also be present at the event, which celebrates his judicial philosophy and public addresses compiled in the publication.

The book brings together Justice Gavai’s significant speeches and addresses delivered during his tenure as the Chief Justice of India. It aims to preserve and present his views on constitutional governance, the rule of law, social justice and equal access to justice for a wider audience.

The publication explores key constitutional issues, including transformative constitutionalism and the judiciary’s role in a changing India. It also examines fundamental rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and international judicial cooperation. It also explains Justice Gavai’s emphasis on balancing fundamental rights with Directive Principles to advance the Constitution’s vision of social justice and inclusive development.

Published by Thomson Reuters, the book carries a foreword by Chief Justice Surya Kant. It is expected to serve as a valuable reference for law students, researchers, advocates, judicial officers and readers interested in constitutional democracy.

The launch ceremony is likely to witness the participation of Supreme Court and High Court judges, senior advocates, legal academics, researchers and legal experts from across the country.
