On Tuesday, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti visited Adani Group’s Khavda Renewal Energy Facility in Gujarat, who described the tour as an educational opportunity to see how the company is assisting India in achieving its zero-emission targets.
The Adani Group is building the largest renewable energy project in the world. The project is 30,000 MW in capacity on the barren area of Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat.
It is nearly as big as Mumbai City and five times larger than Paris, spanning 538 square kilometers.
“Inspired by my visit to the Khavda Renewal Energy Facility in Gujarat, where I learned about @AdaniGreen’s innovative projects advancing India’s zero-emissions goals,” Garcetti posted on X social media platform.

He said that sustainable energy is a cornerstone of environmental stewardship.
“Our bilateral partnership is key to shaping the solutions for a cleaner and greener future for the region and the world,” Garcetti noted.
Within a year of construction beginning, the world’s largest renewable energy plant in Khavda commissioned its first 2 GW, setting a record.
The growing potential of renewable energy has led Adani Green Energy to increase its aim for FY 2029–2030 from 45 GW to 50 GW.
The company contributed 2.8 GW in FY24, or 15% of India’s total increase in renewable capacity.
