UP To Reduce Stamp Fee On Rent Agreement For Ease Of Living

According to Yogi Adityanath, an online system for registration and stamp is essential for record and data administration as well as ease of life.

He gave the order to start getting ready for this as soon as possible and to prepare and provide a draft.

The Chief Minister also ordered a decrease in the stamp registration cost for rental agreements for residential, non-residential, and commercial properties. The above information was shared through an official release.

He recommended streamlining the agreement procedure and making separate brackets for this.

He stressed that transparency should be the cornerstone of the Online Registration Rules 2024’s codification, e-registration, and e-filing system.

Buildings with RERA approval and government agencies should be the conduits for e-registration.

Furthermore, rent agreements for a maximum of 12 months, bank file 6 (1), and any documents under Sections 18 and 89 of the Registration Act 1908 should all be electronically filed.

According to Chief Minister Adityanath, sale deeds, agreements, and lease deeds shall be approved by government agencies. The process also involves institutions like development and industrial development authorities, during Phase 1 of e-registration.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said, “Presentations and approvals should be managed by the nodal officers of these government agencies. Additionally, the photos and signatures of the parties involved should be captured digitally or electronically. The Registrar Officer will complete the registration based on the electronically transmitted data from the above process.”

The CM added, “The photos and signatures of the parties involved should be captured digitally or electronically. Under the process, registration should be done by the registration officer based on electronically transmitted data.”

In Phase 2 of e-registration, it should be extended to RERA-approved institutions for sale deeds, agreements and lease deeds.
