IT Ministry And Indian Army Knock Together Partnership For Advanced Technologies

Two of the premium organization rooted to IT Ministry and Indian army put together a Memorandum of Understanding for advanced technologies.  The Military college of Telecommunication Engineering(MCTE), Indian Army and Society for Applied Microwave Electronic Engineering and Research(SAMEER) have form a thoughtful partnership with the aim to improve the technological calibre of Indian Army.

As per the information received from Ministry of Electronics and IT the MoU signed plans to establish an ‘Advance Military Research and Incubation Centre’ at MCTE. On the other hand the other party involved- SAMEER- is a autonomous Research and Development laboratory under the IT Ministry.

The Memorandum of Understanding contains the signature of Lt Gen K H Gawas, Commandant, MCTE and Dr PH Rao, Director General, SAMEER.

Using combined expertise in 5G, 6G, advanced cellular technologies, software-defined radios and cognitive radios, satellite communications, antenna design, free space optics, tropo-scatter communications, AI, quantum, and military-specific chip design are among the main goals of the joint research and development project.

the IT Ministry terming the partnership as milestone said, “This initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening the Indian Army’s technological capabilities which are aligned towards the declared vision for 2024 as ‘Year of Technological Absorption for Indian Army’ by the Chief of Army Staff.”

By working together, SAMEER and MCTE are demonstrating a common dedication to investigating cutting-edge technology and tackling contemporary military issues.

An incubation hub will assist in the creation of new military-specific solutions from conception to large-scale production, involving start-ups and MSMEs, as part of the MoU.

The MoU also addresses elements of training, growth, and knowledge exchange.
