UP Government Forms High-Level Committee To Address Industrial Unrest In Gautam Buddha Nagar

Amid escalating labour-management tensions, the Uttar Pradesh Government has constituted a high-level committee to address industrial unrest in Gautam Buddha Nagar and restore normalcy. The move aims to foster dialogue among stakeholders and ensure long-term industrial harmony.

The decision follows increasing dissatisfaction among workers over issues such as low wages, long working hours, and inadequate workplace facilities.

In recent days, protests and demonstrations have been reported across industrial hubs, particularly in Noida, disrupting production and affecting daily life in nearby areas.

According to officials, the committee will be headed by the Industrial Development Commissioner. It will also include the Additional Chief Secretary of the MSME Department. The Principal Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department will be part of it as well.

A nominated officer from Kanpur will serve as Member Secretary to coordinate proceedings and ensure implementation.

To maintain balance, the panel includes five representatives from recognised labour unions and three members from industrial associations, providing a platform for both workers and industry voices.

Sources confirmed that the committee has already reached Gautam Buddha Nagar and begun its inquiry on priority. It will conduct meetings with workers, management, and local authorities to assess the situation comprehensively.

The panel is expected to identify root causes and propose practical, time-bound solutions. A detailed report will be submitted soon, outlining both immediate and long-term measures.

Officials believe the initiative will help ease tensions and resume smooth industrial operations. It is also expected to strengthen labour-management relations. This would ensure sustained growth and stability in the region.
