Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting with security and law enforcement agencies to review the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) of Intelligence Bureau (IB), responsible for addressing the country’s security challenges. The meeting aimed to enhance MAC’s functioning through technological and operational reforms, ensuring greater synergy among agencies to combat emerging security threats.

Shah emphasized the need for a ‘Whole of the Government’ approach, urging agencies to work together to dismantle terror networks and their ecosystems. He stressed the importance of MAC functioning 24/7 as a platform for sharing real-time actionable information among stakeholders, including end responders.
The Home Minister directed the formation of a team of young, technically skilled officers from all agencies to utilize Big Data, AI/ML analytics, and technological advancements to dismantle the terror ecosystem. He highlighted the need to stay ahead in response to new and emerging security challenges.
The meeting aimed to enhance MAC’s effectiveness, promote inter-agency synergy, and leverage technology to counter security threats. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, MAC will implement significant reforms to enhance its reach and effectiveness.
