Hyderabad Hit-and-Run video
A truck driver has been apprehended in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Hyderabad, Telangana, following the circulation of a viral video depicting the event on social media, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
The arrested individual has been identified as Prithviraj.
The video in question captured a truck traveling at high speed along a busy thoroughfare, with a motorcycle trapped beneath its front wheel and the rider clinging to its side.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist approached law enforcement and filed a report, alleging that the same truck had collided with another car following the initial incident.
The occurrence took place during the night of April 14.
According to the police, on April 15, they received a complaint from Abdul Majeed, a 60-year-old resident of Hyderabad. Majeed recounted that while traveling from Aramghar to Laxmi Gardens in Champapet on his motorcycle around 11:45 pm on April 14, a truck recklessly struck his bike near Laxmi Gardens.
Despite the collision, the driver failed to halt the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, as bystanders on a motorcycle captured the entire episode on their phone.
Fortunately, Majeed sustained no injuries, but his motorcycle suffered extensive damage from being dragged by the truck.
Additionally, it was revealed that the same truck collided with another car at Champapet T-Junction.
Authorities suspect that overspeeding was a contributing factor in the incident and are continuing their investigation.
