Dr Rajeshwar Singh’s Tara Shakti Free Kitchen Completes Two Years Of Selfless Service In Sarojini Nagar

Sarojini Nagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh commemorated a significant milestone on Friday as the Tara Shakti Free Kitchen completed two continuous years of serving nutritious meals to the underprivileged.

Since its launch on July 18, 2023, the initiative has consistently fed more than 4,000 people every day, entirely free of charge.

Dr Singh established the kitchen in loving memory of his late mother, Tara Singh Ji, and Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Shri Suresh Khanna formally inaugurated it.

Since then, it has evolved into a community-driven symbol of hope, service, and resilience, benefitting daily wage labourers, hospital patients and their families, rickshaw pullers, shopkeepers, and others in need.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude on the second anniversary, Dr Singh remarked, “It was my mother’s cherished wish that no poor or helpless person should sleep hungry. Her blessings initiated this service, which has now become deeply embedded in Sarojini Nagar’s social conscience.”

Tara Shakti Free Kitchen is its Consistency & Sincerity of Purpose

Significantly, the kitchen operates every single day without interruption, regardless of adverse weather conditions. The team prepares and distributes meals with unwavering dedication, whether in scorching heat, torrential rain, or harsh winter cold.

The key distribution centres, Lokbandhu Hospital and Parag Chauraha, see long queues well before mealtime, a testament to both the need and the trust the initiative has fostered.

One of the defining qualities of Tara Shakti Free Kitchen is its consistency and sincerity of purpose. The team prepares meals with a focus on hygiene, nutrition, and dignity, ensuring they treat each recipient with respect.

Dr Singh also extended his sincere appreciation to the Pragati Prayas Foundation, dedicated volunteers, local seva workers, and the wider Sarojini Nagar community, all of whom have been instrumental in sustaining this noble mission.

He reaffirmed his long-term commitment, stating, “The flame of Tara Shakti Free Kitchen will never go out. As long as I hold your trust, no one in Sarojini Nagar will go to bed hungry.”

Indeed, this initiative has not only addressed food insecurity at the grassroots level but has also emerged as a model of social responsibility and inspired civic action.

Its success continues to resonate across Lucknow and beyond, motivating similar efforts to support the needy with compassion and resolve.
