Singer Shubh Addresses Controversy Over 'Assassination' Hoodie and Audience Actions
Punjabi singer Shubh has found himself embroiled in controversy after holding up a hoodie during a concert in London on October 29. The hoodie allegedly displayed a map of Punjab with the date and an illustration of Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Responding to the backlash, Shubh released a statement on Instagram, explaining that the hoodie was thrown at him by someone in the audience. He also expressed frustration, stating that regardless of his actions, some people always find something to criticize.

This isn’t the first time Shubh has faced controversy. In September, his India tour was canceled due to allegations of his support for Khalistan, a movement seeking an independent Sikh state. The cancellation came in the wake of the India-Canada diplomatic row over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The previous controversy involved an old Instagram post by Shubh in which he shared a distorted map of India that omitted the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and the Northeastern states. Alongside the map, he had written “Pray for Punjab.” After facing backlash, he deleted the post and replaced it with a simple “Pray for Punjab” message.
