Shalini Talwar and her husband Honey Singh are granted a divorce by a Delhi court

New Delhi: After more than a year of legal battle, a Delhi Court on Tuesday granted singer Honey Singh and his wife Shalini Talwar’s divorce. A domestic abuse case against the musician had been brought by his wife. They reached a settlement agreement to put a stop to all of their disagreements, and Principal Judge (Family Court) Paramjeet Singh of Saket Court granted them a divorce decree.

Last year, they reached an agreement and agreed to pay ₹1 crore in alimony. Her lawsuit against Honey Singh has been discontinued.

She had filed a domestic violence lawsuit and accused others of domestic abuse. She spent about 13 years married to Honey Singh.

2011 had seen their marriage in January. In September 2022, they filed a plea seeking a divorce amicably. In response to a question posed by the judge during the hearing, Honey Singh stated that he would not be able to live with his wife going forward.

In support of Honey Singh, attorney Ishan Mukherjee stated that the court had approved the divorce order subsequent to the second motion being granted. He declined to provide any information, claiming that the issue is a private marriage disagreement.
