Fitistan Ek Fit Bharat will host the SBI CME Soldierathon on November 17, 2024, at CME Pune, Dapodi, commemorating the 244th Sappers Day. This landmark event, organized at the historic Military Institute, will honor the sacrifices of the Corps of Engineers, with a particular focus on wounded warriors and martyrs of the Indian Armed Forces. The celebration will also mark India’s victory in the 1971 war, which led to the creation of Bangladesh.
The Soldierathon will begin at 6:00 AM and aims to foster patriotism and gratitude while raising funds for the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center in Kirkee, Pune, where soldiers receive critical treatment. Runners from diverse backgrounds, including military personnel, civilians, and students, are gearing up to participate in Pune, one of India’s most vibrant cities.
Participants will have the rare opportunity to run through the sprawling 3,600-acre CME campus, a site rich with lakes, forests, and migratory birds. This event allows runners to experience the strength and resilience of the Indian Armed Forces firsthand, with full hospitality from the soldiers.
The Soldierathon includes three race categories:
– 21 km (Half Marathon)
– 10 km
– 5 km
All runners will receive dry-fit t-shirts, finisher medals, refreshments, hydration support, medical assistance, goodie bags, and digital photos. Those in the 21 km and 10 km races will also get a timing certificate. The day will close with patriotic and folk-themed performances.
