The list includes Justice Syed Qamar Hasan Rizvi, Justice Manish Kumar Nigam, Justice Anish Kumar Gupta, Justice Nand Prabha Shukla, Justice Kshitij Shailendra, Justice Vinod Diwakar, Justice Prashant Kumar, Justice Manjeev Shukla, and Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deswal.

State Government Approval and Evaluation Process

The Allahabad High Court Collegium had previously recommended these judges to the state government on May 28, 2024. Both the Governor and the Chief Minister have approved the recommendations. The Supreme Court Collegium, in accordance with the Memorandum of Procedure, consulted Supreme Court judges familiar with the Allahabad High Court cases to ensure the suitability of the nominees.

A Supreme Court committee, formed under the Chief Justice of India’s resolution dated October 26, 2017, reviewed the judges’ judgments. The Collegium evaluated the judges based on the materials provided, including opinions from Consultative-Peers and the Judgment Evaluation Committee’s report.

The Central Government is expected to finalize and approve the appointments soon, with the new permanent judges anticipated to be sworn in by next week.
