Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has declared a 'dry day' on January 22
It appears that the Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has declared a ‘dry day’ on January 22 in light of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This means that all liquor establishments in the state will be closed on that day. The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
This decision aligns with similar actions taken by other BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which have also declared a dry day on January 22.

Chief Minister Khattar mentioned that cleanliness activities are being conducted at religious places in the state from January 14 to January 22, following the Prime Minister’s call for cleanliness at such locations. He also encouraged people to light diyas at home on January 22, and the ‘pran pratishtha samaroh’ will be broadcast live in educational institutes and other places.
Khattar emphasized that the inauguration of the ‘Ram Mandir’ in Ayodhya is not considered a political event but holds deep sentimental significance for the people. Additionally, he took a swipe at those who declined invitations to attend the ceremony, stating that the people of the country would give a befitting reply to them.
