On Thursday, Rakesh Tikait, the Indian Farmers Union’s national president, will address a farmers’ maha panchayat in the Tappal police station area of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
The maha panchayat is being coordinated on the side of the grapplers challenging the supposed lewd behavior of female grapplers by the BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh during his residency as the leader of the Wrestling Alliance of India (WFI).
In January, India’s top wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshee Malikkh, and Bajrang Punia, demonstrated against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at the renowned Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
The wrestlers made serious allegations of sexual harassment against Singh and demanded the WFI chief’s resignation and arrest. However, a heavy police force has been deployed in the area in view of the maha panchayat.
In the meantime, the Kaiserganj-based BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh denied the allegations of sexual assault against female wrestlers and stated that he would be prepared to hang himself if found guilty.

The wrestlers requested that Brij Bhushan Singh take a drug test, and the WFI chief granted their request.
However, he set a condition that even grapplers should also undergo the same test.
