Rajeshwar Singh Expresses Distress Over Electric Shock Incident That Injured 8-Year-Old In Bijnor

MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh has expressed deep distress following an electric shock incident that left an eight-year-old boy, Arpit, critically injured in Sainik Vihar Colony, Bijnor.

Arpit, the son of local resident Rakesh Pal, is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

Upon learning of the accident, Dr Singh’s team visited the affected family to offer assistance.

The MLA confirmed that ₹75,000 in medical expenses incurred by the family for Arpit’s treatment had already been covered. Additionally, members of his team donated blood to support the child’s critical care.

Dr Singh also appealed to the MLA of Mohanlalganj constituency to provide further aid to the family from the local MLA fund.

In a bid to secure broader support, Dr Singh has written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting all possible government assistance and compensation for the family. He has also contacted the Energy Minister, urging the registration of an FIR, a thorough investigation of the incident, and punitive action against responsible officials.

The MLA further emphasised the need for immediate compensation and safety measures, including identifying and fencing other potentially dangerous transformers in the area.

Dr Singh called the negligence unacceptable and inauspicious, emphasising that no one can excuse failing to adhere to safety standards. He pledged to ensure accountability for the incident and stressed that strict enforcement of safety regulations is necessary to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Dr Singh concluded by affirming that the government and local representatives have a responsibility to support affected families.

“Even today, I stand with them, and I will continue to do so in the future,” he stated, underscoring his commitment to protecting citizens from such preventable hazards.
