Rajeshwar Singh Condemns Derogatory OTT Content; Calls For Strict Action

Rajeshwar Singh has strongly criticised the portrayal of any community in a derogatory manner, asserting that freedom of expression does not grant a licence to insult or demean specific groups.

In a statement shared on X, Singh described the creation of films on OTT platforms with titles such as ‘Ghooskhore Pandit’ as highly objectionable and condemnable. He warned that such content reflects an anti-social mindset and urged people to criticise it publicly and pursue collective legal action.

Singh cautioned that such acts form part of a larger conspiracy to divide society and weaken national unity.

“Today one community is being targeted, tomorrow another caste or group could be,” he said, stressing the need to respond firmly and in unity.

He underlined that India’s strength lies in harmony, mutual respect and constitutional values, not in division or hatred.

Calling for resistance to caste-based prejudice, Singh urged citizens to actively support social unity and reject narratives that promote discord.

Welcoming the action initiated by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Singh said it was essential to ensure that those responsible for such offensive acts face appropriate punishment. He emphasised that strict enforcement of the law would act as a deterrent and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Singh also highlighted society’s responsibility in opposing such content openly and decisively. He said silence or indifference would only embolden those with divisive intentions, while collective opposition would help safeguard social harmony.

Singh emphasised that people must exercise freedom of expression responsibly and with respect. He concluded by calling on all sections of society to stand united against content that undermines national integrity and social cohesion.
