Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House on Wednesday, marking their second interaction within a month. The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the meeting through a brief statement on social media.
The engagement assumes importance amid evolving global developments and ongoing policy priorities.
Sharma had earlier met the Prime Minister during his Ajmer visit on February 28, where he sought guidance on Rajasthan’s comprehensive development and efficient execution of welfare programmes.
During the latest meeting, the Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to advancing the state’s growth trajectory under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He acknowledged Modi’s vision and direction as instrumental in shaping Rajasthan’s progress across sectors.
Bhajan Lal Sharma further emphasised that continued support from the Centre strengthens the state’s efforts towards achieving a ‘Developed Rajasthan’.
As a gesture of respect, Sharma presented a sandalwood idol of Goddess Durga to the Prime Minister. The artefact, crafted by Jaipur-based artisan Mohit Jangid, showcased intricate detailing and traditional design.
The Jangid family has practised sandalwood carving for four generations, with several members receiving national recognition for their craftsmanship. The offering symbolised Rajasthan’s rich artistic legacy and deep-rooted cultural traditions.
Officials noted that such interactions reinforce coordination between the Centre and states while promoting heritage alongside development priorities.
The meeting reflected continued engagement between leadership levels to drive governance, cultural preservation, and economic advancement in Rajasthan.
