Rahul Gandhi’s ‘BJP Rishtedar Samithi’ jab at KCR’s party over Telangana student’s suicide

A 23-year-old lady committed suicide after she was allegedly forced to retake competitive tests, sparking a political uproar in Telangana, which is headed for elections. Congressman Rahul Gandhi dubbed the tragedy a “murder of dreams, hopes, and aspirations.” Additionally, he made a crude jab at K Chandrasekhar Rao’s BRS, referring to it as a “BJP Rishtedar Samithi (BJP relative)”.

“BJP Rishtedar Samithi, BRS, and BJP together have ruined the state with their incompetence,” he stated.

“The Congress government in Telangana will release a job calendar, reorganize TSPSC on the lines of UPSC in 1 month, and fill 2 lakh vacant government posts within a year—this is a guarantee,” he stated.

This week, the woman committed suicide in her hostel in Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad. Many students held demonstrations there and chanted anti-state government slogans, accusing it of being responsible for her passing.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the head of the Congress, claimed on X that the State Public Service Commission exams were repeatedly postponed as the reason behind her severe action.

“Shocked and deeply anguished by the suicide of a 23-year-old girl student in Telangana, who reportedly took the drastic step to end her life due to repeated postponements and irregularities in the State Public Service Commission Exams,” Kharge stated on X.

Due to the BRS government’s abject indifference to holding exams, thousands of young candidates in Telangana are disillusioned and furious. Telangana’s youth hold the corrupt, incompetent, and ineffective BRS government accountable and will remove it from office, he continued.

Gandhi, on the other hand, claimed that it was actually the murder of the “dreams, hopes, and aspirations” of the young people, not a suicide.
Gandhi’s sister and Congresswoman, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, called the examination delays “shameful” and “unfortunate.”
