‘Rahul Gandhi Bhago Mat’: NDA MPs Target LoP Over Amit Shah’s Reply On Student Protest

BJP-led NDA MPs staged a protest march in the Parliament complex on Tuesday, accusing Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders of avoiding a debate on police action against protesting students.

Several lawmakers marched towards Parliament’s Makar Dwar while carrying placards that read, ‘Grah Mantri ki charcha se Rahul Gandhi bhago mat’ — urging Gandhi not to avoid the Home Minister’s reply.

The NDA MPs claimed that the Opposition continued to disrupt parliamentary proceedings despite the government confirming that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was ready to address the issue.

During Opposition sloganeering in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said Shah would make a statement on the students’ protest.

Rijiju urged Opposition members to remain in the House and participate in the discussion.

Some NDA MPs also criticised the Opposition’s alleged silence over police action against students protesting in Jharkhand. They carried banners demanding a response from Gandhi over the reported lathi-charge.

Kangana Ranaut blamed the Opposition for disrupting Parliament despite the government agreeing to a debate.

The protests continued during the Monsoon Session’s final week over the NEET paper leak and police action during the 20 July ‘Sansad Chalo’ march.

Opposition parties have demanded an explanation from the Home Minister over the alleged use of force against the demonstrators.
