NDA ‘Mangal Milan’: PM Modi, Amit Shah Attend Meet Ahead Of Monsoon Session Finale

The NDA Parliamentary Party’s ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting began at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi on Tuesday as the ruling alliance prepared its strategy for the final two days of the ongoing Monsoon Session.

Members of the NDA gathered at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium for the meeting.

MPs of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India, who were previously associated with the Trinamool Congress, were also present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were among the prominent leaders who attended.

The gathering began with slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. MPs, including the Prime Minister, held the national flag during the programme.

The NDA held the meeting as Parliament prepares to conclude the Monsoon Session on Thursday.

The NDA government is seeking to secure the passage of several pending Bills amid expectations of continued protests and disruptions by Opposition parties.

The session has witnessed repeated adjournments over issues including alleged examination paper leaks, police action against demonstrators at Jantar Mantar and the Ram Mandir donation theft case.

Opposition parties have particularly demanded a response from the Home Minister over the alleged use of force against students during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march on 20 July.

Opposition parties organised the demonstration over the NEET paper leak and other alleged examination irregularities.

Amid Opposition sloganeering in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Rijiju said Amit Shah would make a statement on the students’ protest. He also urged Opposition members to remain present and participate in the discussion.
