Prime Minister Narendra Modi Concludes G7 Summit in Italy, Returns to Delhi

After a day brimming with high-level engagements at the G7 Summit in Apulia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Saturday.

His visit marked significant diplomatic strides, characterized by fruitful discussions with numerous world leaders.

Reflecting on the day’s accomplishments, Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform X, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes of the summit.

“Had a very productive day at the G7 Summit in Apulia. Interacted with world leaders and discussed various subjects. Together, we aim to create impactful solutions that benefit the global community and create a better world for future generations,” he posted.

During his visit, PM Modi expressed his gratitude towards the host nation, appreciating Italy’s hospitality.

“I thank the people and government of Italy for their warm hospitality,” he noted.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s contributions and perspectives presented at the summit.

“An important G7 Summit, where I presented India’s perspective at the world stage. Here are highlights,” he added, sharing a video link summarizing the key moments of the event.

PM Modi’s Global Diplomatic Blitz At G7 Summit

Throughout the day, PM Modi engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with prominent leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

These discussions underscored India’s growing role in global diplomacy and cooperation.

The G7 Outreach Session, which focused on critical issues such as AI and Energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean, saw PM Modi actively participating and exchanging views with fellow world leaders.

Following this session, he held further interactions with several heads of state, including US President Joe Biden.

In addition to his meetings with Western leaders, PM Modi’s diplomatic engagements extended to leaders from other regions.

He met Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Jordan King Abdullah, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, fostering dialogue on a range of global issues.

A noteworthy moment of his visit was his meeting with Pope Francis on Friday, during which he extended an invitation for the Pope to visit India, highlighting the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation.

This visit to Italy marked PM Modi’s first overseas trip since assuming office for his third consecutive term and his fifth consecutive participation in the G7 Summit, reinforcing India’s commitment to engaging with the world’s leading economies on pressing global challenges.
