Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in the ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ at the Kalaram temple in Nashik, Maharashtra, on Friday. Subsequently, he inaugurated the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL), a monumental 21.8-kilometer sea bridge, marking India’s longest. During his visit to the Kalaram temple, PM Modi offered prayers and immersed himself in the verses of ‘Bhavartha Ramayana,’ composed in Marathi by Sant Eknath.
Constructed after being ravaged by the Mughals, the Kalaram temple holds historical significance. Legend has it that Lord Ram swiftly defeated 14,000 demons in 1.5 minutes, earning the temple its name ‘Kalaram,’ signifying Lord Ram’s manifestation as ‘kaal’ (death) for the demons.
Later, addressing the Rashtriya Yuva Mahotsav at Nashik’s Tapovan Ground, the Prime Minister appealed to the public to initiate cleanliness drives at temples nationwide ahead of the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya on January 22.
“I urge everyone to conduct cleanliness campaigns in all temples and shrines across the country in preparation for the pran pratishtha in the Ram Temple,” stated PM Modi.
Highlighting the youth’s role in India’s progress, he referred to the current era as ‘Amrit Kaal,’ a golden period for the nation’s youth. PM Modi emphasized that India ranks among the top 5 global economies, boasting a robust startup ecosystem and leading in innovation and patent filings.
