President Droupadi Murmu issued a warning on Thursday about the disruptive forces that aim to undermine democracy and sow discord within society. During her address to the joint sitting of Parliament, she highlighted the dangers posed by these forces in the current era of rapid communication advancements.
“In this era of communication revolution, disruptive forces are conspiring to weaken democracy and create fissures in society,” President Murmu stated.
She urged members of Parliament to reflect on these issues and to propose constructive solutions for the country. She emphasized that these disruptive elements operate both domestically and internationally, engaging in rumor-mongering, misleading the public, and spreading misinformation.

“This situation cannot be allowed to continue unchecked. Technology is advancing every day, and its misuse against humanity can be extremely harmful,” she cautioned.
The President underscored that India has raised these concerns in international forums and has been advocating for a global framework to address them.
“It is our responsibility to stop this tendency and find new ways and means to address this challenge,” she concluded.
