President Murmu, PM Modi To Attend Odisha BJP Government’s Two-Year Anniversary Event

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a special event in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on June 20 to mark the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government’s completion of two years in office.

The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed its participation on Tuesday and stated that the programme will take place in Rairangpur, the hometown of President Murmu.

To review preparations, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Monday.

During the meeting, CM Majhi instructed officials to ensure seamless arrangements for the event and provide all necessary facilities for attendees.

The Chief Minister directed authorities to strengthen security measures, arrange adequate public amenities and create sufficient parking facilities. He stressed that officials must coordinate efficiently because both the President and the Prime Minister will attend the function.

CM Majhi had earlier invited Prime Minister Modi and other dignitaries during his recent visit to New Delhi.

The Chief Minister recently directed that the anniversary observance should remain low-key due to the prevailing situation arising from the conflict in West Asia. He instructed officials to conduct the programme in a simple and restrained manner, noting that the country is currently navigating a challenging international environment.

Instead of organising grand celebrations, CM Majhi asked departments to focus on showcasing the state government’s achievements over the past two years.

The BJP formed its first-ever government in Odisha on June 12, 2024, after securing a clear majority in the Assembly elections.

The victory ended the Biju Janata Dal’s uninterrupted 24-year rule in the state.

The June 20 programme is expected to highlight key achievements, governance initiatives and development milestones accomplished by the BJP government since assuming office.
