Eid al-Adha celebrations commenced across India with religious fervour and devotion. Early morning saw large congregations at mosques and Eidgahs in cities and towns nationwide, where devotees offered prayers and participated in rituals marking the sacred occasion.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to X to convey his greetings, posting, “Best wishes on Eid ul-Adha. May this occasion inspire harmony and strengthen the fabric of peace in our society. Wishing everyone good health and prosperity.”

To honour this, Muslims worldwide perform ‘qurbani’ the ritual sacrifice of animals such as goats and sheep and distribute the meat among family, friends, and those in need.
The festival is being observed with enthusiasm in the National Capital Region.
Thousands gathered for morning prayers at major mosques in Delhi and Noida.
In Noida, prayers took place around 7:00 AM, while namaz timings in Greater Noida varied between 6:45 AM and 8:15 AM, depending on the mosque.
Throughout the day, families are expected to share festive meals, participate in charitable activities, and enjoy communal gatherings.
To maintain peace and ensure smooth observance, authorities in major cities have deployed additional security personnel and arranged necessary measures.
These efforts further aim to guarantee that the festivities proceed without disruption, fostering a safe environment for all participants.
