President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed warm Christmas greetings to citizens across the country, highlighting the festival’s enduring message of love, compassion, peace and social harmony.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, President Murmu extended her heartfelt wishes to all citizens, with a special mention of the Christian community.
She described Christmas as a festival that spreads joy and enthusiasm while reminding humanity of the sacrifice made by Lord Jesus Christ for the welfare of all.
The President noted that the occasion inspires people to strengthen values such as peace, equality, harmony and service in society.
She urged citizens to follow the path shown by Jesus Christ and work collectively towards building a more compassionate and harmonious social order.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to X to share his Christmas greetings. Wishing people a joyous celebration, he said the festival reflects peace, compassion and hope. He added that the teachings of Jesus Christ continue to reinforce harmony and unity within society.
Both leaders emphasised that Christmas transcends religious boundaries and offers universal lessons relevant to contemporary times.
