New Delhi: The President Secretariat announced the appointment of Governors for five states on Tuesday. The Rashtrapati Bhavan issued a press communique detailing the new appointments.
Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, currently serving as Mizoram’s Governor, will take charge as Odisha’s Governor. General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), a decorated Army officer, has been appointed as Mizoram’s Governor.
The communique confirmed that Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Bihar’s Governor, will now serve as Kerala’s Governor. Arif Mohammed Khan, Kerala’s incumbent Governor, has been shifted to Bihar.
Ajay Kumar Bhalla, a former Union Home Secretary, will take charge as Manipur’s Governor. These changes reflect the central government’s strategic reshuffle of key positions.
The press release stated that the President accepted the resignation of Raghubar Das as Odisha’s Governor. It emphasized that the new appointments will take effect when the appointees assume charge.
This reshuffle marks a significant shift in the gubernatorial leadership of these states.
