MEA Secretary (East) P. Kumaran confirmed that Prime Minister Modi emphasised civilian safety and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Indian missions in the region remain in contact with nationals and community groups.
They have issued advisories urging vigilance and compliance with local security guidance.
The discussions followed reports of coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, and retaliatory responses across the Gulf.
Both leaders stressed diplomacy as the primary path to stability.
Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney advanced economic collaboration. They set a year-end deadline to conclude negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
They welcomed a CAD 2.6 billion long-term uranium supply agreement between Cameco and the Department of Atomic Energy.
The arrangement will strengthen India’s civil nuclear generation and energy security.
The leaders agreed to expand the India-Canada Strategic Energy Partnership.
Cooperation will span clean energy, conventional fuels, nuclear power, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, crude oil, refined products and critical minerals.
Both countries aim to increase bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030 from nearly $9 billion in 2024-25.
Canada reaffirmed plans to enhance heavy oil exports and raise LNG production to serve Indo-Pacific markets.
The leaders endorsed greater private investment, structured financing, and long-term supply contracts.
They signed memoranda on critical minerals and clean energy cooperation to secure resilient supply chains and accelerate transition technologies.
The summit reflected renewed momentum, strengthened institutional engagement, and deeper strategic alignment between the two democratic partners.
