PM Modi’s GST Reforms Win Praise As JP Nadda Rallies Delhi Traders To Promote Swadeshi

BJP National President JP Nadda on Monday met shopkeepers at Amar Colony in south Delhi to mark the first day of the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

He described the reform as another decisive step by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen India’s economic policy and ease the financial burden on citizens ahead of the festive season.

Accompanied by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Nadda interacted with traders in the Ladies Suits Market and urged them to pass on the benefit of lower GST rates to consumers.

He also appealed to shopkeepers to prioritise Indian-made goods, calling it an opportunity to support the country’s youth and manufacturing sector.

‘Festival of Savings’ for Delhi Residents

Speaking to reporters, Nadda said shopkeepers in Amar Colony had conveyed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for the GST cut and pledged to implement the reform in its true spirit.

“I wish to thank PM Modi and congratulate crores of consumers on the occasion of Navratri,” he remarked, adding that shoppers preparing for Dussehra, Dhanteras, Diwali and Chhath would benefit from lower prices this season.

Delhi BJP chief Sachdeva described the GST cut as a ‘big gift’ for the public and traders on the first day of Navratri.

He said the simplified tax system would make essential goods cheaper, help traders reinvest in their businesses and reduce legal hurdles.

Both leaders underlined the importance of buying Indian goods to build a self-reliant economy.

Nadda said he had asked shopkeepers to stock’ ‘100 per cent Indian’ products, while Sachdeva appealed to residents to support Swadeshi initiatives during the festive season.

Party leaders emphasised that the next-generation GST reform would benefit everyone, from traders and entrepreneurs to women, farmers and youth, making it a true ‘Festival of Savings’ for Delhi and beyond.
