PM Modi’s Commitment To Women Empowerment: A Vision Beyond Slogans

For Prime Minister Modi, women’s empowerment is more than a slogan; it’s a guiding principle. His commitment to Nari Shakti has shaped his journey, breaking stereotypes and creating leadership opportunities for women.

PM Modi’s deep connection to gender issues stems from his upbringing, witnessing the strength and resilience of his mother.

This personal experience has fueled his consistent efforts to empower females, not just as beneficiaries but as leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

Women In Politics: A Transformational Approach

Throughout his political career, PM Modi has worked to bring women to the forefront of politics.

He pushed for 30% reservation for women in the BJP’s organizational structure, ensuring that even booth committees were incomplete without female representation.

Modi believed that such inclusion should go beyond token roles, emphasizing that women must occupy significant leadership positions.

As Gujarat’s CM, he ensured women were trained and equipped to manage key political functions.

He ended the “sarpanch pati” practice and empowered women sarpanches to lead directly, without their husbands overshadowing them.

Women-Centric Policies In Gujarat

In Gujarat, Modi implemented numerous initiatives that paved the way for women’s empowerment, setting national models.

The Beti Vadhaao mission, launched in 2005, aimed to eliminate female foeticide, while the Kanya Kelavani programme helped boost girls’ enrolment in schools.

The Nari Gaurav Niti, a comprehensive women’s welfare initiative, addressed safety, health, and economic security.

PM Modi also pushed for 50% reservation for women in local governance, ensuring their active participation in decision-making roles.

National Initiatives Under Modi’s Leadership

As India’s Prime Minister, Modi’s focus on women’s empowerment expanded nationwide.

Under his leadership, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan built toilets to improve women’s safety and dignity, while the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign focused on education and gender balance.

Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which provided LPG connections to over 10 crore women, alleviated health risks caused by smoke-filled kitchens.

Additionally, the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, reserving one-third of Lok Sabha and state assembly seats for women, was a groundbreaking move toward greater political participation.

PM Modi’s commitment to women’s empowerment is reflected in policies that create opportunities for women to excel in all spheres.

Whether through political participation, economic empowerment, or social welfare, PM Modi’s vision ensures that women are no longer just beneficiaries of government schemes but leaders in India’s journey to a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

This format mirrors the provided structure while keeping the focus on PM Modi’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment and leadership.
