PM Modi Urges Citizens To Celebrate ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ In Festive Season

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to participate in the inaugural ‘GST Bachat Utsav’, a festival of savings introduced alongside recent GST reforms.

In a tweet accompanied by a letter to the nation, the Prime Minister highlighted that lower GST rates will provide direct financial relief to households, making essential goods and services more affordable this festive season.

The letter, shared via PM Modi’s official channels, emphasises that the initiative benefits all sections of society, including women, families, farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs.

The Prime Minister referred to the festival as a ‘memorable milestone’, urging citizens to celebrate the economic advantages of simplified taxation.

Support for Traders & Entrepreneurs

PM Modi’s communication notes that the GST reforms streamline the tax structure, reduce compliance burdens, and simplify transactions for businesses.

By consolidating GST slabs and lowering rates on essential and everyday products, the initiative aims to ease operations for traders and small businesses while boosting investment and economic activity.

Officials noted that the festival-themed approach seeks to promote awareness about the reforms and inspire active participation from both citizens and entrepreneurs.

“Lower GST rates mean more savings for every household and greater ease for businesses,” the Prime Minister’s letter reads, underscoring the dual benefits.

The Prime Minister’s tweet, accompanied by the letter, reflects a broader effort to integrate economic reforms with cultural festivities.

By linking the GST savings to the celebratory spirit of the season, the government hopes to highlight the tangible benefits of taxation reforms while encouraging citizens to embrace a culture of savings and prudence.

Observers said the initiative strengthens public engagement with policy reforms and reinforces the government’s vision of creating an inclusive, economically empowered society.

The ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ is expected to reach households nationwide, generating awareness and participation while supporting traders and boosting business confidence.
