Prime Minister Modi flagged off two Vande Bharat Express trains to Delhi Cantt. He also handed out appointment letters to 15,000 newly recruited youth in Rajasthan.
PM Narendra Modi, addressing a massive rally in Napla village of Banswara on Thursday, urged citizens and shopkeepers to embrace ‘swadeshi’ (indigenous) products to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
He emphasised that every rupee spent on Indian-made goods empowers local artisans, farmers, and workers while contributing directly to national development. PM Modi called on shopkeepers to proudly display boards reading ‘This is Swadeshi’ and encouraged people to ensure that every purchase supports Indian-made products.
During his speech, PM Modi sharply contrasted the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with that of the Congress. He said, “Before 2014, the Congress government was busy looting the people. Taxes and inflation were at their peak under their regime.”
He illustrated the impact of GST reforms on household budgets:
Prime Minister Modi declared, “During Congress rule, there was only loot. Under the BJP government, there are only savings. That is why India celebrates the ‘GST Savings Festival.’”
PM Modi linked the adoption of swadeshi products with the vision of a self-reliant India. He said, “Whatever we buy, we should buy swadeshi. My definition of swadeshi is simple: no matter which country the brand belongs to, it must be made in India, reflecting the sweat of our workers and the soil of our land.”
He stressed that purchasing swadeshi products strengthens India’s economy instead of foreign economies, saying, “Every rupee spent on swadeshi builds schools, hospitals, highways, and homes for the poor.”
Calling electricity the vehicle of modern progress, Prime Minister Modi said, “If there is electricity, there is light. If there is electricity, distances are erased. If there is electricity, we have the world.”
He criticised Congress for neglecting rural electrification: “Even after 70 years of Independence, 25 million households lacked electricity. Villagers used to joke that electricity returning was news, not the power cut.”
PM Modi announced power projects worth Rs 90,000 crore across five states: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
Paying tribute to Rajasthan’s tribal heritage, PM Modi said, “The water of the Mahi river reflects the struggle and resilience of our tribal brothers and sisters. I bow to Maa Tripura Sundari, Maa Mahi, Maharana Pratap, and the Bhils who shaped this land of devotion and bravery.”
He highlighted the BJP’s initiatives for tribal empowerment. “It was the BJP that made Droupadi Murmu, a daughter from a tribal family, the President of India,” he said. We created a dedicated Ministry for Tribal Welfare — something Congress never imagined.”
At Banswara, PM Modi laid the foundation for the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project worth Rs 42,000 crore. He inaugurated multiple projects in water, clean energy, health, and roads. He also laid the foundations for these projects, with a total investment of Rs 1,22,670 crore.
PM Modi highlighted the positive impact of GST reforms on everyday purchases. He explained, “A Rs 500 shoe that cost Rs 575 under Congress now comes with Rs 50 less tax. Kitchen expenses of mothers and sisters have reduced, and India celebrates the festival of GST savings.”
