On the fourth day of Navratri, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 1,22,100 crore in Banswara. He described it as a step toward energy growth, tribal empowerment, and overall development in the state.
PM Modi paid tribute to the sacred lands of Maa Tripura Sundari and Maa Mahi, symbolising the strength and resilience of tribal communities.
He also honoured Maharana Pratap, Raja Bansia Bhil, and Mahayogi Govind Guru Ji, highlighting their leadership and contribution to the region’s cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister announced power projects worth over Rs 90,000 crore across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, calling it a ‘new chapter in India’s energy sector’.
In Rajasthan, PM Modi laid the foundation for solar, nuclear, and transmission projects, including the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project (Rs 42,000 crore), one of India’s largest nuclear plants.
He also inaugurated solar projects in Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Jalore, Sikar, and Bikaner, along with transmission corridors under the Renewable Energy Zone (Rs 13,180 crore).
The Prime Minister linked the energy projects with the festive spirit, saying, “During Navratri, we worship Goddess Shakti, and today we celebrate ‘Urja Shakti’, energy generation.”
PM Modi emphasised India’s progress in electricity and clean energy:
He criticised previous governments for neglecting electricity: “Before 2014, 2.5 crore households lacked power, and 18,000 villages had no electric poles. Villages relied on just 4–5 hours of electricity.”
PM Modi highlighted the BJP’s initiatives for tribal communities:
He also recalled that Droupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, became the President of India, inspiring focus on marginalised tribal communities.
