PM Modi To Launch Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana On 26 September

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on 26 September at 11 AM via video conferencing.

As part of the programme, he will directly transfer ₹10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across the state, amounting to ₹7,500 crore in total.

The initiative represents one of the largest direct benefit transfer programmes in Bihar dedicated exclusively to women’s empowerment.

The scheme is designed to make women Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) by encouraging self-employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Unlike targeted welfare schemes, it is universal in nature, ensuring that one woman from each family in Bihar is eligible to receive financial assistance.

The initial grant of ₹10,000 will enable beneficiaries to launch small businesses or undertake livelihood activities of their choice.

Additionally, the programme includes provisions for further financial support of up to ₹2 lakh in subsequent phases, ensuring long-term growth and expansion of women-led enterprises.

Community-Driven Approach

A unique feature of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is its community-driven framework. Beneficiaries will not only receive financial assistance but also capacity-building support.

Community resource persons, connected with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), will provide training and mentorship to help women start, sustain, and expand their ventures.

To further support women entrepreneurs, the Bihar government plans to develop Gramin Haat-Bazaars, which will act as marketplaces for selling locally produced goods.

This step aims to strengthen rural trade networks, increase visibility for women’s products, and boost incomes.

PM Modi’s launch of the scheme follows his recent interaction in Banswara with beneficiaries of the PM Kusum scheme, where he emphasised the government’s commitment to empowering citizens through targeted and impactful welfare programmes.

The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana reflects the same philosophy—transforming welfare into opportunities for self-reliance and progress.

The government will directly transfer ₹7,500 crore to women beneficiaries on launch day, stimulating rural economies, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing family incomes across Bihar.

The initiative not only empowers women individually but also promises to reshape communities by placing women at the centre of economic growth.

The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana combines direct financial support, training, and market access to establish itself as a landmark step in promoting gender equality and inclusive development in Bihar.
