PM Modi To Visit MP; Launch Key Projects On Ahilyabai Holkar’s Legacy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on 31st May to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the visionary 18th-century queen renowned for her welfare reforms and progressive governance.

The occasion is set to highlight Ahilyabai’s enduring legacy while inaugurating multiple development projects aimed at strengthening women’s empowerment and regional infrastructure.

PM Modi will attend the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan in Bhopal around 11:15 AM, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for key initiatives supporting women’s empowerment and civic development.

This event underscores the government’s focus on gender equality and inclusive growth in Madhya Pradesh.

To pay tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar, the Prime Minister will also release a commemorative postage stamp and a special ₹300 coin featuring her portrait.

Furthermore, PM Modi will present the National Devi Ahilyabai Award to a distinguished woman artist, recognising her contributions to tribal, folk, and traditional arts.

Major Infrastructure Projects

A significant highlight of the visit is the foundation laying for ghat construction projects on the Kshipra River in Ujjain, valued at over ₹860 crore.

These works include building barrages, stop dams, and vented causeways aimed at regulating river flow and enhancing water management ahead of the Simhastha Maha Kumbh in 2028, a major religious gathering that draws millions of devotees.

PM Modi will inaugurate the newly developed airports at Datia and Satna, improving air connectivity in the Vindhya region.

These airports will stimulate growth in industry, tourism, healthcare, and education by improving access and reducing travel time for residents and visitors alike.

Furthering urban transport development, the Prime Minister will launch passenger services on the Yellow Line’s Super Priority Corridor of the Indore Metro.

This expansion offers an eco-friendly, efficient transit option designed to ease congestion and lower pollution levels in the city.

Further supporting rural administration, PM Modi will release the first instalment of ₹480 crore for constructing 1,271 Atal Gram Sushasan Bhawans.

These buildings will serve as dedicated hubs for gram panchayats, enhancing governance and facilitating better record-keeping at the village level.

PM Modi’s visit reflects the government’s commitment to honouring historical legacies while driving forward modern development across Madhya Pradesh.

By combining cultural celebration with infrastructure growth and empowerment initiatives, these projects aim to foster sustainable progress and elevate the state’s socio-economic landscape.
