PM Modi To Offer Prayers At Somnath Temple During Gujarat Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will offer prayers at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Monday as part of his two-day visit to the state, which also includes religious ceremonies, public programmes and the inauguration of a major community complex in Vadodara.

PM Modi arrived in Jamnagar on Sunday night ahead of his engagements in Somnath and Vadodara, with large crowds expected during the visit.

At the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav, marking 75 years of the restored temple, the Prime Minister will participate in religious ceremonies and release a commemorative stamp and coin.

The visit follows the BJP’s recent local body election victories, with a roadshow and public welcome programmes also planned in Vadodara.

During the visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 complex, also known as the Shri Dushyant and Daksha Patel Complex, near Vaghodia Crossing in Vadodara.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹150 crore and spread across nearly 4.75 lakh square feet, the facility includes 278 accommodation rooms, an NRI guest house, an e-library, training facilities, a career guidance centre and an auditorium with seating capacity for around 1,000 people.

The Prime Minister will also receive the ‘Sardar Ratna’ award from leading Patidar community organisations in recognition of his contribution to social reforms and community development.

The programme is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, members of the Gujarat cabinet and representatives from various sectors.

Sardar Dham Trust president Gajji Sutaria said the inauguration forms part of ‘Mission 2026’, aimed at expanding educational and youth development infrastructure in the state. He added that the organisation was working towards the holistic development of young people by connecting donors, industrialists, traders and government initiatives.
