PM Modi To Inaugurate ₹12,000 Crore Development Projects In Gaya On August 22

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than ₹12,000 crore in Gaya on August 22, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Chaudhary inspected the venue at Magadh University campus and instructed officials to ensure smooth preparations.

Attack on the Opposition

Addressing an NDA workers’ meeting at Cultural Bhawan, Haridas Seminary in Gaya, Chaudhary criticised the Gandhi family and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

“Some people add ‘Jananayak’ to their names, and some write ‘Gandhi’ after their names, but merely writing does not make anyone a leader. The Gandhi family and Lalu family looted Bihar, while Nitish Kumar transformed the state,” Chaudhary said.

He also questioned Congress over the Emergency, stating: “Does the word ‘Jananayak’ sound good from the mouth of a party that imposed the Emergency and jailed political workers?”

Chaudhary highlighted the NDA’s record in employment, comparing it with the RJD era.

“Lalu Prasad could not provide even one lakh government jobs during his tenure, whereas Nitish Kumar gave 7.5 lakh jobs between 2005 and 2020. Between 2020–25, 50 lakh jobs and employment opportunities have been created, and by 2025–30, one crore youth will get jobs,” he claimed.

NDA’s Development Push

During a review meeting with senior JDU leaders, NDA allies, and Bihar minister Santosh Suman, Chaudhary stressed that Bihar’s rapid development is happening under PM Modi’s guidance and CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

He urged NDA workers to strengthen the organisation at the block level and spread awareness about government achievements.

Infrastructure and Power Supply Growth

Chaudhary cited progress in electricity and connectivity.

“In 2005, Bihar had only 17 lakh electricity connections. Today, that number has increased to 2.14 crore. Currently, 1.64 crore households pay zero electricity bills under subsidy schemes. The government aims to provide free electricity to every household with 100% subsidised solar plate installations in coordination with the Centre,” he said.

He also highlighted road connectivity improvements: “Now one can reach any part of Bihar from Patna in five hours. The government’s goal is to reduce this to four hours.”

Chaudhary emphasised the government’s focus on religious tourism.

He noted that the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya was completed under PM Modi’s tenure and that a ₹1,000 crore grand temple of Maa Janaki is under construction at Punauradham, Sitamarhi.
