The Adani Group on Monday firmly rejected media reports alleging that the Assam government allotted land to the company for setting up a cement plant in Dima Hasao. The company described the claims as ‘baseless, false, and misleading’.
Responding to the controversy, an Adani Group spokesperson said, “Some news reports, social media posts, and court hearing clips claim that the Assam government has allotted 3,000 bighas in Dima Hasao to the Adani Group for a cement plant. We categorically state that these reports are false.”
The spokesperson further clarified that linking Adani to Mahabal Cement was ‘mischievous’, stressing that the company has no connection, ownership, or association with Mahabal Cement in any manner.
The Adani Group urged the media, digital platforms, and the public to verify facts before sharing unverified claims.
The spokesperson warned that circulating such misleading information misinforms people and creates unnecessary confusion.
